Uygulama açıklamasında yer alan her şey eksiksiz mevcut. Telaffuz özelliği güzel. Panoya kopyalaman metni otomatik çeviriyor. Bence çok kullanışlı bir uygulama. Keşke öğrencilik yıllarımızda elimizde olsaydı diyorum ve 5 yıldız veriyorum.

It’s very frustrating to buy the PONS app and then discover that I have an easier time finding numerous words when I use dict.cc or linguee apps, which don’t cost anything (except a pittance if you want to get rid of ads). I hardly ever use the app anymore because I’ve had so many fruitless searches on it. That said, I’ve lived in Germany for 15 years and only tend to look up “difficult” words. They still ought to be in the dictionary, though.
I chose this from the various Pons offline German- English dictionaries because of the intermediate cost and its features. The entries are exact matches to those I've compared with entries in my hardcover copy of their 2001 Deutsch-Englisch volume of the Pons Worterbuch fur Schule und Studium (add umlauts). I'm happy with my choice.
The lastest update crashes on my iPhone 4 under iOS 7.1.2, it stays in the background but user Interface always disappears after a few seconds. Please fix this quickly. I purchased this app quite a while ago and found the available entries to be sufficient even in daily use in business and engineering. The Version 3.11 added comprehensive lists of irregular verbs, flash cards for easy learning and audio output. What would make it even better is a flag at the top indicating which language you are entering combined with switching to the right keyboard layout. Also an option to upgrade from advanced to business or premium with only paying differential price would be nice.
I love that I can get to this on my iPhone 5 even in airplane mode and that they have a decent amount of pronunciations. This isn't Leo.org but gets me through most questions I have. Overall pretty good little pocket dictionary.
The instructions and user interface for flash cards is just bad and not intuitive. After struggling for some time and trying to make sense of the "Help", I gave up.
This app doesn't work with IOS 8! Plz, update this app asap, lazy guys
Since I am completely new to learning languages, I need something comprehensive and approachable. I want to spend my money and feel like I got my money's worth. I have downloaded several other language software before and been disappointed. Not this time. I have learned more in the past hour than I could possibly imagine. I am very happy with the way this software works, and while I am still figuring out how it works, I have found it pretty easy and intuitive to use
Once you have the software installed on the main computer (I had a little trouble with that part, but after some repetitions it worked ), and user email and password is set, the mobile app works well, and I am enjoying doing a majority of my study on my mobile device.
Thanks for fixing the pronunciation-through-the-speaker bug! It's so great to have such a comprehensive dictionary able to fit in the pocket and to be accessible instantly and offline. Definitions show context and usage. I use it all the time and I'm very happy with it. The "favorites" list is helpful to store words for later review. A few things could be improved: 1. Splash screen: Eliminate it. It wastes time. 2. Inflexion Table: There is now a list of irregular verbs (lacking subjunctive forms), but I wish each verb had its own inflexion table, like one would see in Canoo. Declension tables for adjectives would be nice, too. 3. Optional Download of Pronunciations: Allow user to delete English (or Deutsch) pronunciations to save memory. One doesn't need both sets. 4. More Deutsch Pronunciations: Only the base words have pronunciations. There is a pronunciation for "Rock" but not the more-difficult plural "Röcke". There is one for "sein", but not "wäre", one for "werden" but not "würden".
Could still use conjugations and der die or das with the nouns in the word list, but a great resource.
It freezes a while when you go back to the program after you minimize it.
A guide to using the dictionary as a dictionary, not as a piece of technology, would help. For example, in the German translation of an English word, a noun is listed with the gender "nt." if you click it, it takes you to New Testament. Not neuter or neutral. Similarly, it is not clear if the plural or the genitive form is listed first in brackets. An experienced reader would be able to figure it out, but it would be much easier to be able to just find that kind of info in a How to Use the Dictionary section like all dictionaries have had for the last few hundred years.
This is a great app with tons of content and learning tools like the flash cards. Couldn't imagine a better or more robust resource for the ipod/pad platform. Yes, it's expensive, but it worth every penny to have this lifetime language resource in the palm of your hand. highly recommended.
I agree that abbreviations are difficult noted in a critique. However everything else with this dictionary is exceptional. The ability to copy anything in memory and have it come up immediately in the dictionary is great. The definitions are right on and the example sentences are invaluable to understand how the word is used. I am looking up German words and the definitions are clear. Great bargain, very good dictionary. I wonder what could have been left out in the premium. Great job Pons!!! I wonder if those with the premium would comment. I find it hard to believe I've got anything but a winner here.
This app is expensive and a bait-and-switch for the premium version of the same "book." Most seriously there is no key in the help section to the abbreviations and symbols used. Some of the abbreviations are for English words and some abbreviations are for German words. It is very difficult for a native speaker in one language to guess abbreviations in the other language without a key.
I bought this app hoping it would be like an offline version of their website... Turns out its just a mediocre version. They don't have half the pronunciations they do on the website, and the app is just plain confusing to use. The definitions are also laid out horribly, with hardly any separation between them. I was excited to see it had a study feature, I was hoping it would be like the website where you can actually interact with the words, but it was just a really bad version of a flash card app. I'm using this when I don't have an Internet connection to make picture associated flash cards... PONS I hope you're reading this.. PLEASE make it as good as your website. As of now I feel like I wasted $25.
It is a good dictionary that has a major flaw - one cannot look up conjugated verbs or inclined nouns and adjectives in German. I hope to see this fixed in the near future as it is something that is present in free apps and online services and it is a shame to not have it in a dictionary priced as high as this one.
The new update makes this expensive program almost unusable. Now anywhere you touch in an entry (which you have to do in order to scroll down), it opens a new page for the word you accidentally touched, and then takes several steps to get back. Please fix; this was a great program until now!
Well, I looked at pretty much every dictionary the store had to offer. I really wish that Itunes had a trail period or something so that if you do not like it you can return it. But overall I'm satisfied with this product. I really wish that for the German side of things it had a table for all the verbs and tenses but I suppose thats what school is for? Anyway, if you have been looking at tons of other dictionaries and cannot decide which one to get this one really is quite helpful.
If you are (like me) learning German - do not buy this app. No verb conjugation. I can't believe nobody has written about this yet. No mentioning of this in the app description either. It has all the verb forms for English and none for German. How can they claim to be a "two-way" dictionary and have only half of the content for one of the languages. Shame and waste of money. I wish I could give it no stars at all after wasting $25
This dictionary works great and is a good subtitute for the large paperback Webster's that I use for German language classes. However, it is missing 3 things in my opinion: 1. A list of irregular verbs with infinitive, present indicative, imperfect past, and perfect past forms. 2. Better derivation of the infinitive from any conjugated form of the verb. The Accio app is much better in this respect. 3. A thesaurus would be a nice feature for common words, if not all words (esp. adjectives and adverbs) The app can be a bit slow to load an entry (my phone is a 3G, YMMV) and will display the last word you looked up for a second until it updates. Overall the app is a good value, but not much more comprehensive than Accio which is 1/10th the price.
I travel to Germany 7-8 times per year. While many Germans speak some English, it's easy to get in a situation where you can't depend on it. Yes it's expensive, but it is also the best I have found so far. This is great on several fronts: Comprehensive - I find almost everything I need covered (so paying the cost is well worth it when you might be stuck) Easy to use - interface pretty intuitive. Before I had little books with limited words, and not always convenient to carry a big enough book to do any good. This is like a great big dictionary. Pronounciation guide - the spoken version is terrific, since my English way of pronouncing is often far off the mark Off line usage - I find I have to turn off internet access when in Germany because of cost, but this app works just fine regardless. So it's a must have. I hestitated because of the price, but have not regretted it at all.
comprehensive and easy to use; it should be for the money. now let's have it for iPad! (then it will be 5 stars)
This is a five pound dictionary reformatted to enable quick searches from your iPhone. As a bonus, you can build your own flash card library. If you have any need to go between German and English, get this.
Really the best ger-eng dictionary I managed to find in the appstore. I also used the previous version that was slower and had some issues, all is great so far in this version. It is quick enough, has all the words I needed so far, many audio recordings. Price is 5-10$ than it should be. I recommend anyway because of the app quality.
Great app... almost. But it only gets one star because it's among the most expensive out there and yet they never update it. There are so many things it needs, and many requests for features and bug fixes. So, 4 stars becomes 1. Update and I'll change my mind.
Sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes you get less than you pay for. You get a lot more than you paid for with the PONS dictionary. It's quite a bargain and I would have quite cheerfully have paid a lot more to get this excellent little dictionary. The publisher has an enviable well-deserved reputation as a purveyor of electronic German-English dictionaries. The less expensive alternatives may well suffice for someone who is planning an occasional trip to a German speaking country and anxious to avoid using the wrong restroom, but the PONS is much more comprehensive and will probably remain the best choice until someone squeezes an unabridged Collins or Langenscheidt into portable form. My only quibble, and it's a minor annoyance, is that PONS uses British English and as an American I occasionally have no idea what a term means. The print Collins unabridged manages to include both British and American English and I'd hope that some time in the future PONS will follow that admirable practice. Having used PONS on other platforms, I'm confident that the various undocumented features (bugs) will disappear as Paragon continues to update the product. They've been very conscientious about that in the past.
Perfect for my German Lit 490 class. Lots of technical words like "Vergangenheitsbewaeltigung". The audio feature is superfluous at this level and just takes up space, but she does have a nice voice. Totally worth 24.99.
The print version of the PONS German-English Dictionary (sold in the US under the Harper-Collins name) is hands down the best dictionary out there. Although this version can't have all the entries in the full dictionary, it's nonetheless the best on-the-go dictionary I've used. Unlike almost every electronic dictionary application out there, this one is more than just a mere lexicon - it includes usage examples and variations. That being said, the interface simply wasn't ready to be released into the wild yet. Taps on the word often do not work, and behavior is often inconsistent. (I just now held down my finger on a word and instead of showing the definition, the interface inexplicably scrolled down about one and half screens). I'm sure these flaws will be worked out over coming versions, but if you can put up with it for the time being, this is a great app. When they fix the interface, it will be the best.
Worth the money, although I think $20 would be a bit more reasonable. This is an excellent dictionary, though. I like the History tab as you have instant access to your most recent searches. Also, the audio is clear and loud enough. A couple of requests: 1) Please continue to add voice pronunciations 2) If you could add the letters of the alphabet vertically down the search page, it would really be helpful. I know we can place a letter in the search and that works but it would be an additional help to just have the letters there. What I'm talking about is similar to the way Apple does the Contact lists on the iPhone. There's both a search box and the vertical alphabet. Thanks for a very useful tool! I love it!
